George Clooney is set to visit Ireland this summer with his wife, the actor has revealed.
The Hollywood star will be making his first trip to see his ancestral home, although wife Amal Alamuddin has been here a number of times.
And Clooney revealed that before Bono’s recent bike accident, he was even planning a cycle around Ireland with the U2 star.

He told the Irish Independent: “I’m embarrassed that I’ve never properly been there before now.
“I’ve been talking about going there for years and Bono has been trying to get me to do a bike ride around Ireland with him.
“He probably won’t be up for that now, but I’m definitely going to make a visit happen this summer. Amal has been several times, so she can show me around.”
He has Irish roots on both sides of the family, with his great-great-grandfather Nicholas Clooney from Kilkenny.
