A FOURTH RTÉ presenter is earning over €300K

A fourth RTÉ presenter is earning over €300,000.

The national broadcaster gave details relating to salaries to the Dáil’s Public Accounts Committee, which revealed that another presenter has joined the three who have been earning over €300,000 since details were last made public three years ago.

In 2015 Ryan Tubridy was earning €495,000, Joe Duffy’s salary was €416,893 and Ray D’Arcy earned the lovely sum of €300,000. Assuming their salaries haven’t dropped, another one of RTÉ’s presenters has joined their ranks.

Based off the 2015 figures the most likely contenders to have had their salary surpass €300,000 are Miriam O’Callaghan (who was earning €299,000), Marian Finucane (her salary was €295,000), and Sean O’Rourke (bringing in €290,113).

The Examiner report that RTE officials confirmed that four stars are earning more than €300,000 per annum. They also revealed that ten people are earning more than €100,000, doing this by setting themselves up as private companies instead of taking up staff roles. 81 people at RTÉ have set themselves up as private limited companies.

Ten people are earning between €100,000 and €300,000 and 53 people are earning up to €50,000 a year.
