Forbidden Fruit announce 100% Irish acts for the Bulmers Live Stage

Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival is fast approaching and they’ve stuck with 100% Irish acts on the Bulmers Live Stage again after last year was a roaring success.

The Bulmers Live Stage was a covered tent at the festival last year that had a mezzanine overlooking the stage and was packed to capacity last year as festival goers enjoyed top Irish talent including Mango and Mathman, Le Boom, Tara Stewart and Rusangano Family.

Royal Hospital, Kilmainham will play host to another entirely Irish lineup on Bulmer’s Live Stage again this year and we can’t wait!

The stage will host over 20 artists over the three days, promoting the best in new Irish emerging artists.

Alternative pop duo AE MAK produce soundscapes, visuals and bewitching live performances. With their percussive vocal harmonies, synchronised choreography and punk-esque performance style, Æ MAK are a fiery force to be reckoned with.

Alt-folk singer AILBHE REDDY joins the lineup. Her break out single ‘Distrust’, garnered critical acclaim and over 1.5 million streams on Spotify. She went on to feature on almost every major Irish festival line up. Reddy released her brand new single ‘Nothing to Doubt’ earlier this year to excellent reviews.

Irish 8-piece BOOKA BRASS knows how to get a party started with their infectious sounds featuring trumpets, trombones, saxophones and drums. They’ve performed the length and breadth of the country and have been special guests to the likes of Hot 8 Brass Band and Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Making waves on the Irish music scene is the super talented folk singer DAVID KEENAN. Having played alongside the likes of Mick Flannery, Hothouse Flowers, Damien Dempsey and Glen Hansard, David is fast becoming one of Ireland’s most talked about young artists. 22-year old Dublin native DAY_S is a singer-songwriter, with expertly crafted piano lines, soulful vocals, fresh and unique material. His debut single, “Last Night” has amassed over 130k plays on Spotify since its release.

DJ DEECE has been banging out memorable shows on what seems like a weekly basis! His Deece Series party has seen him welcome Jackmaster, Baba Stiltz, Jack J and Denis Sulta to Dublin. On top of this, Deece recently joined Jackmaster as part of his Mastermix tour and Bicep on their Irish tour!

We’re super pumped to be joined by 21-year-old Dubliner ERICA CODY, singer/songwriter/producer who mixes 90’s R&B with modern elements. She has worked with Grammy nominated producer Skrapp and supported iconic girl group En Vogue.

We’re thrilled to have the group FEHDAH perform this year. An eight piece futuristic Afro soul band led by Emma Garnett. Their music combines Emma’s African roots with her band’s irresistible hip hop and funk sound with super smooth vocals.

The next artist who looks set to make the leap into the mainstream musical success is FLYNN. A talented singer, wordsmith and musician expect smooth, dance-inducing synths and sing-aloud choruses. Check out his latest release Red Light here.

Next up, we’ve got pure unadulterated sweaty rock’n’roll from Dublin band FONTAINES DC

Already creating a buzz here and in Europe, they’ve toured with The Horrors and the Lemon Twigs, and fellow Irish outfit Girl Band.

Also taking to the stage, Dubliner KATIE LAFFAN, who has an innate knack for mixing genres to produce exciting new sounds. Her tracks Trophy & Tastemaker received massive national airplay and Laffan has a host of best newcomer awards under her belt already.

Irish 6 piece KING BONES have been described as ‘sounding like somebody emptied the contents of Chic into a blender before you managed to clean The Fall from the blades’ Fresh from releasing the first video Party Animals from their forthcoming EP, you won’t want to miss this gang live!

Northern Irish singer LILLA VARGEN’s name means Little Wolf in Swedish – an alias which encapsulates both her strong, soulful, evocative voice. Her critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Hold On’ racked up just under a million listens online in a month!

Former members of the band Halfset, Stephen Shannon and Cillian McDonnell now produce music under the moniker MOUNT ALASKA. The Dublin duo are seasoned stalwarts of the Irish music scene. Their combined efforts result in experimental electronic tracks with a mix of machines and synthesizers.

Niall Byrne aka NIALLER9 is the music enthusiast at the helm of the most-read Irish music blog Nialler9.com. His DJ sets feature melodic electronic music, soul, disco, house, R&B, hip-hop, synth-pop, indie, electro, current finds and curveball classics. Dancing guaranteed.

Musician and actor PAUL ALWRIGHT three albums under the name Lethal Dialect. Recently he shed the moniker and is releasing his forthcoming album Hungry in May under his own name – featuring Damien Dempsey, Maverick Sabre and more! Check out the first release ‘Seeds of Doubt’ from the LP.

Producer and DJ, ROBBIE KITT has released 2 critically acclaimed records in the last year. His live sets are filled with synths and drum machines, resulting in high octane, thumping, melodic and euphoric performances. Bring comfy shoes, don’t hesitate to get sweaty and get ready to dance.

Female duo SYLK create dark distorted electro-pop music.Visually intense and lyrically dark, SYLK create an electronic experience with their show.

The absolutely bizarre and bonkers Bingo Loco will blow the roof of the Bulmer’s Live Tent, maybe leave your granny at home for this one. Expect traditional bingo turned on its head. Think rave rounds, confetti cannons, conga lines, dance-offs and serious prizes. here’s a taster from last year…

We’ll have a chance to take the stage too and wail our favourite R&B belters as the stage hosts Sing Along Social!

Bulmers will once again have five bars at this year’s festival including the Core Bar, West & East Bar and Forbidden Spirit Cocktail Bar together with the Bulmers Live Lounge.

Tickets are on sale now and the event is for people over 18 years of age.
