Irish footballer Sean St Ledger has been left heartbroken after claiming he was dumped by text message.
The soccer star said things have ended with Assets model girlfriend Faye Rooney after nearly a year together.
The 29-year-old – who was also dropped recently from Leicester City – later deleted his message from Twitter. He told his fans: “Sad to see you break up with me over text.”

Before Sean deleted the message a number of fans stuck up for him. One said: “That’s pretty low.” Another added: “Hope she put an x at the end.”
However Faye made no comment online, as Sean joined dating application Tinder.
The couple had got together after engaging in a Twitter flirtation for some time, which saw Faye supporting him from the stands at a number of Irish games.
He also whisked her off to Dubai for a pre-Christmas break, but he wanted to keep it quiet by not mentioning their getaway online.

Previously, Sean has been linked to Nadia Forde and Desperate Scousewives star Layla Flaherty. He also had a fling with Dublin model Hayley Ryan – until she ran back to her ex James Chambers.
She later said: “I only went out with Sean to keep my mind off James while we were on a break. I always knew James and I would get back together.
“It was nothing serious — we had dinner a few times and I always had a laugh with Sean any time we went out. But my heart was never in it. There was no big break-up, things just fizzled out.”
