Johnny Ward has opened up on a real-life miscarriage in his life that inspired his role on Fair City.
His character Ciaran was involved in the storyline which saw on-screen girlfriend Farrah suffer a miscarriage just a few weeks ago.
The actor revealed that when his sister went through a miscarriage in 2012, he didn’t really understand what she was going through.
“My sister had a miscarriage back in 2012 and if I was completely honest I never really got it.”

He continued to tell The Irish Star, “It’s easy as an outsider to say ‘You can try again’, and maybe I was a bit, not insensitive, but seeing everything she went through at the time has been strengthened again by all the research I’ve done since.
“Those crying scenes we had to shoot, I had a picture of Maureen’s daughter Susie as a baby and I carried it with me all the time.”
