FAI boss John Delaney blasts 'LUNATICS' for cyber bullying girlfriend Emma English

John Delany has hit out at “cyber bullies” who have been attacking his girlfriend Emma English online.

John, 46, has been comforting model Emma after she was the victim of vile online abuse by an Irish football forum ybig.ie.

Speaking this morning about the horrible comments online, which included death threats and comments of sexual abuse, John said he was angry.

“I don’t mind criticism over the FAI, who it’s ran, whether the management team is right in Roy Keane and Martin O’Neill,” John explained.

“But it’s huge offence with some of the language that has been put towards her.

“She should have no involvement in any comment that’s made about the FAI or me in my stewardship.

“They apologised yesterday to her. The sad thing is the apology came on the website and then afterwards there’s more threads of abuse towards her.

“They said they were sorry and they’d make a donation to charity. But then the lunatics come back and have a go at her.”

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on 2FM, John said Emma’s children have been left upset over the comments and Emma was forced to explain to them what was going on.

“That’s very distressing for both her and her family. She has kids as I do, there’s six children. Emma has four, I have two.

“She’s had to sit down with them and explain what happened. Their friends had said it to them.

“It’s very distressing for her and her family and it’s just not what Irish society should be about. It’s cyber bullying.

“Anyone involved in this should be ashamed of themselves,” he said.

John added that he whisked Emma away for a few days to get her mind off the bullying, but the comments just got worse over the weekend.

The FAI boss said he’s trying hard to protect Emma.

“”It’s very hard as a man who wants to protect his woman, as every man does. It’s a very hard thing to do with cyber bullying.”

“These people posting these comments are probably parents themselves, they should think about that before they hide behind these comments.
