EXCLUSIVE! Una Healy opens up on performing without The Saturdays

Una Healy has opened up on performing as a solo artist, rather than in a band with The Saturdays.

The Tipperary native first shot to fame as part of the popular girl group along with Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King and Vanessa White, who formed back in 2007.

She is now writing and releasing her own music, which has a country-folk sound to it.

When asked by Goss.ie whether she gets scared performing onstage without the girls, Una said, “Not really, I love performing.”

The redhead beauty continued, “Like if there’s no nerves at all then there’s something wrong! I used to gig around Dublin and all around Ireland as a singer-songwriter before I was ever in The Saturdays.

“It’s almost like going back in time in a way. It’s nothing strange to me you know.

“I’m pretty pleased to be releasing my own music. I’ve been writing a long time, but I suppose the hard work is paying off now. So it’s great to be finally doing it you know. It was hard work but I love it.”

Fans of The Saturdays will be sad to learn that a reunion is not on the cards, as she also said “Not anytime soon, no.”
