Tommy Bowe has revealed the secret to his happy marriage with his wife Lucy Whitehouse, ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary.
The Ireland AM presenter is married to former Miss Wales Lucy, and the couple share two kids – Emma, 7, and Jamie, 4.
The pair tied the knot on June 14, 2015 at the Corran Resort and Spa in Carmarthenshire, Wales.
Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie as he launched his new skincare collection Flow By Tommy Bowe, Tommy gushed over his wife.
He explained, “I think it’s a case of good communication and good chat between the two of us.”
“And certainly when kids come along, I think that’s really important as well. And I think respect too, that’s the biggest thing is that, you know, Lucy respects everything that I’m doing.”
He joked that although Lucy respects what he does, which he described as “drinking coffee and talking rubbish on the telly in the morning,” he commends her hard work.
“She’s a nurse, she’s getting the kids up and out to school, dealing with the chaos of that.”
“And to be honest with you, that’s a lot tougher than what I do because I’m living the life going and drinking coffee and talking rubbish on the telly in the morning.”
Speaking about his family dynamic, Tommy said his two young children are “great buddies, which is lovely to see.”
When asked what inspired him to create a skincare line, Tommy joked that receiving Lynx Africa gave him the push.
Tommy joked he had gotten Lynx Africa for Christmas and thought: “Yes, we need to do this and make it happen because there is a gap in the market here. And that’s why we thought we’d do it.”
He further explained how difficult it is to buy the right thing for the guy in your life: “There’s nothing in the men’s market, and we just thought that men are difficult to buy for and there are no men’s Irish men’s products out there, so why not try and do one?”
