EXCLUSIVE! Simon Delaney realises his dream of opening his own food truck in Kildare Village

Simon Delaney is launching his own food truck in Kildare Village next month.

Simply Simon’s Authentic New York Deli will serve up the American diner style food which the TV chef is renowned for.

Actor, director, television presenter, cookbook author and now food truck owner, there’s no end to Simon’s talents.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie Simon revealed that opening the food truck is a dream come true.

“To open Simply Simon’s The Authentic NYC deli in Kildare Village has been a dream of mine for years. I’m so excited to be bringing this fresh new vibrant American style menu to customers at Kildare Village.’

“I can’t wait to share my food with lovers of homemade hand cut deli style sandwiches. We have amazing produce in Ireland and my menu will showcase these. To be associated with 3 of the most successful Irish brands, Kildare Village, Stakelums and O’Donnells Crisps is hugely exciting. Roll on the 25th of April,” he said.

As an actor, life on the road gave Simon a taste for trying new dishes
everywhere he went.

It wasn’t until he worked in New York City on hit TV shows like The Good Wife and films such as Delivery Man that he fell in love with classic American diner food.

After successfully launching ‘Simply Simon’s – The Diner Cookbook’, his love letter to his favourite diner dishes, in October 2017, Simon has taken another step on his food journey bringing authentic New York Deli sandwiches to a hungry audience in Ireland.

Simply Simon’s has partnered with Stakelums Home and Hardware and O’Donnell’s Hand Cooked Crisp, two hugely successful family owned Irish brands.

Victor Biffi Rosano, Business Director of Kildare Village: “This is something completely different to anything we have had in the Village before and we’re delighted to have a little taste of America on offer to our guests!”

His new venture will be opened on Wednesday the 25th of April by entrepreneur, former Dragon’s Den mentor and Newstalk broadcaster, Bobby Kerr.
