Louis Walsh has responded to reports that Cheryl is set to replace Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor’s judging panel next year.

Last week, The Sun reported that the former Girls Aloud star, who welcomed her first child back in March, is close to agreeing to a £1.5million deal – in a bid to revive the ITV talent show, which has been suffering in the ratings war.

When asked about the reports, Louis told Goss.ie, “I don’t know anything about it – I’m signed!”

“I hope it is Nicole because she is so funny and so brilliant… we love her. And I love Sharon.”

When asked if he’d be upset if Cheryl replaced Nicole, Louis quipped, “I don’t care as long as I’m there.”

Speaking at The National Dairy Council’s Complete Natural pop up café, Louis also spoke about the level of talent on The X Factor this year, and gushed about Irish contestants Sean and Conor Price.

“I think we have the most talent this year than we ever have, in all my years doing it.”

“[Sean and Conor Price] are the best Irish act we’ve ever had on X Factor – ever!”

“Because they’re real and they’ve got great talent, and they don’t want to be famous, they just want to be musicians – thats what I like about them.”

The National Dairy Council’s Complete Natural Pop Up Café is based on 57 South William Street, and will be open from Wednesday 8th until Sunday 12th November.

There will be a range of celebs dropping in each day and the cafe will be offering gourmet coffee, delicious fruit smoothies, healthy inspired milkshakes and frozen yoghurt. The Café will be designed with funky cow hide inspired interiors, interactive games, cosy booths and special selfie areas including a gallery of modern “Farm Inspired” art and a chill out zone.
