EXCLUSIVE! Laura Whitmore’s ‘terrible time’ with Strictly partner Giovanni revealed

Laura Whitmore “had a terrible time” behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing.

After reports suggested Laura was embroiled in a feud with her Strictly partner this morning, Goss.ie can exclusively reveal what REALLY went on behind the scenes between Irish beauty Laura and her Italian partner Giovanni Pernice.

The pair got to week seven on the popular BBC show despite Laura sustaining an ankle injury, but according to our sources, she struggled more emotionally than physically due to her “self centred” dance partner.

“Laura had a terrible time behind the scenes, but tried her best to be professional,” a well-placed source said.

Since their partnership was revealed, many hoped the pair’s relationship would turn romantic – but it turned out quite the opposite.

On top of everything, Laura was accused of getting too close to Giovanni by Corrie star Georgia May Foote, who became engaged to the dancer after appearing on Strictly together in 2015.

“From day one, Laura was stuck between an ex-girlfriend who was freaking out that she was too close to her partner, and a very self centred dancer who wasn’t very compassionate,” our source told us.

Reports today suggested that Giovanni got irritated with Laura for refusing to film behind the scenes pieces to promote their pairing, however, this wasn’t exactly the case.

“Laura never refused to do filming – the only time she did was when she was upset and needed a moment before going on camera,” the insider told Goss.ie.

After sustaining an ankle injury and being left emotionally exhausted, it was the 31-year-old’s love of dancing and her friendship with the other Strictly contestants that kept her going.

“She ended up physically injured because of over rehearsing, but she hurt herself emotionally just as much.

“All she wanted to do was dance. The other contestants and the fact she loved dancing helped her get to week seven.

“She knew from week one that she would have a lot of challenges that others wouldn’t. It was horrendous,” the source added.

The news comes after I’m A Celebrity fans have been begging Laura to return to the jungle, as Vicky Pattison failed to impress viewers of Extra Camp.
