EXCLUSIVE! Laura Whitmore turned down Dancing With The Stars hosting gig

While Jennifer Zamparelli has reportedly landed the role of co-host on the next season of Dancing With The Stars, Goss.ie can reveal Laura Whitmore turned down the gig.

The popular TV host was approached by ShinAwil, the production company behind the show, but Laura couldn’t take on the role due to “scheduling conflicts”.

The Bray native has continued to work on huge productions since her MTV days, and most recently moved into acting.

TV insiders told Goss.ie that Laura was in talks to replace Amanda Byram on the RTE show, but there was no way to make it work.

“Laura was approached and there were talks, but unfortunately there was no way she could make it work,” a source said.

“Her schedule for early 2019 would be in direct conflict with the filming dates so it just couldn’t happen,” the insider added.

As well as starring in play Not Dead Enough, the TV host is a guest star in Amy Huberman’s new RTE show Finding Joy.

Laura competed in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing back on 2016.

While Jennifer Zamparelli is set to now take over from Amanda Byram and co-host with Nicky Byrne, Vogue Williams was also a major contender to take over.
