EXCLUSIVE! Kayleigh Trappe reveals how she met ‘great’ boyfriend Tom and her sweet ‘lucky’ preshow ritual for Dancing with the Stars

Kayleigh Trappe has revealed how she met her “great” boyfriend Tom and what her sweet “lucky” preshow ritual for Dancing with the Stars is.

The social media star is gearing up to compete in Country Week, and she and her partner Ervinas Merfeldas will reel off a romantic Rumba to I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton.

The yearly Team Dancing challenge is back in week nine as well! When the last six couples have finished dancing, they will be split into two teams of three.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie ahead of her performance of I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton, Kayleigh spoke about how she met her boyfriend Tom.

When asked how the pair met, the social media star confessed: “We just, listen, there’s no fancy story. We met in Dublin and it was from there that it just kind of kicked off. And then, it’s recent enough, it’s less than a year, but he’s great.”

She confessed that in a previous interview, she had been reported as “gushing” over her boyfriend, to which he took “great pride in.”

“I remember the last time I had one of these chats, one of you said I was gushing over him, so he took great pride in that one. He was like, ‘I didn’t know you’d gush over me,’ I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.'”

“But no, he’s great. He’s in sport himself, so he knows the game. Not the dancing game, but it’s been brilliant. And yeah, we’re really happy.”

Kayleigh also revealed the sweetest “lucky” preshow ritual she said helps her before she goes onto the stage: “To be honest, one thing I do, and I don’t know if it’s lucky or if it’s just like kind of like a placebo effect, but I get the costume girls to sew in a holy medal that my mom gave me that I had blessed into my costume every week.”

“So no matter what, it’s always stitched in. I’m just going into every dance knowing that that’s stitched onto my costume. And I have never said that before, but it’s just a nice little comfort.”
