Janet Devlin will NOT represent Ireland in the Eurovision this year, despite reports that she’s set to take part in the singing competition.

The Irish Daily Mail reported that the Tyrone native, who appeared on The X Factor in 2011, was set to fly the flag for Ireland in Israel this May.

However, Goss.ie can exclusively reveal that she will not be taking part in the song contest.

An RTÉ source confirmed that the reports about Janet are “incorrect”, and the insider also revealed that they’ll will be announcing this year’s Eurovision entrant on Friday.

Last year, Ryan O’Shaughnessy represented Ireland at the Eurovision in Lisbon, and the singer-songwriter got us into the final for the first time in five years.

Despite his success, Ryan failed to win the competition, as Israel’s Netta Barzilai scooped the top prize.
