EXCLUSIVE! Hector Ó hEochagáin reveals why he’ll NEVER go back to breakfast radio

Hector Ó hEochagáin has revealed why he’ll never return to breakfast radio.

The presenter hosted a much-loved breakfast show on RTÉ 2fm for three years before it got axed in 2013, and has admitted several times in the past that it wasn’t his decision to leave.

Hector now hosts an evening show on Today FM on Sundays, and has insisted that he has no interest in returning to morning radio.

When asked by Goss.ie whether he’d consider a return to morning radio at the FleadhTV launch, Hector said, “You can forget about that now, man!”

Hector, who was announced as the new Fleadh TV presenter, also insisted that he’s “happy doing the Sunday Show on Today FM”.

He explained that he enjoys the vibe of his Today FM Sunday show, saying that they get great “callers” and he gets to play his music.

“Its a nice community, we’re getting some great callers, great music, I can slip in the Stone Roses a the few of my own tunes every 20 minutes.”

“People enjoy it on a Sunday. Its something different,” he added.
