EXCLUSIVE! DWTS winner MairĂ©ad Ronan says dance partner John Nolan made her ‘a far more confident person’

Dancing with the Stars winner, MairĂ©ad Ronan said that her dance partner, John Nolan made her “a far more confident person.”

The presenter competed against fellow celebs, Johnny Ward and Cliona Hagan to take home the glitter ball trophy.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie, the 38-year-old admitted that she never thought she would win the competition and revealed that her dance partner helped grow her confidence.

“We are over the moon. We are exhausted, emotional and in a little bit of shock actually,” she said.

“Shock is the big word for sure. There’s no way, you dream of it. Well I can’t even remember hearing our names,” John added.

“I had to believe in her when she hadn’t a belief in herself. As she went on in this journey, you could see the developments in her.”

MairĂ©ad went on to say that she had no idea they would make it to the final, let alone win: “I didn’t back myself at all in this. I thought, if I got to switch-up week I’ll feel like I’ve achieved something. If I get to week six or seven, I’ll be happy and I’ll be proud of myself. And the weeks kept going on and I was getting more and more shocked, and more and more scared.”

“John has made me a far more confident person than I was coming into this competition,” she added.
