Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie ahead of the release of his new series Small Town, Big Story, Chris O’Dowd told us how he got Christina Hendricks to sign on.

Chris joked: “There’s a blackmail situation going on that I can’t really talk about for legal reasons.”

He continued: “She just really responded to the script, and she’s got such devilment in her Christina; she’s obviously got so much gravitas and glamour, but she’s got real devilment in her.”

Speaking to Goss.ie about how he felt to be back on home turf, Chris said: ” It was lovely. It was very, very familiar, like a bunch of crew we had worked with before.”

“Loads of actors from like Moonboy and a bunch of stuff, the clinic, Dave Wilmot, you know, it was a bit of a stroll down memory lane a bit.”

But then all these new fantastic collaborators and young Irish actors and it was a great buzz.

“I mean the industry here is in great shape, so it feels good to be around,” he continued.
