EXCLUSIVE! Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin admits she misses RTE Getaways

TV presenter Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin has revealed she desperately misses her RTE travel show.

The stunning lecturer and RTE star previously hosted Getaways, but the series has been taken over by Angela Scanlon.

Speaking to Goss.ie Aoibhinn admitted she is sad to no longer be presenting the show.

“Of course I miss it”, she said. “It was a decision I had to make last year, which was more important to me at the time.”

“I had to either continue with the travel programme or get my PhD thesis in, I decided I wanted to finish my PhD thesis on time,” she said at the launch of HKC’s new Irish language Intruder Alarm System.

Although the Gaelgoir misses the production, she has nothing but praise for her replacement, Angela Scanlon.

“It was a tough decision but Angela is doing a great job on it,” she told Goss.ie.

“It’s a great programme and I hope everyone continues to enjoy it,” she added.

But it’s not all that bad for the UCD lecturer who is still a travel bug, with an upcoming trip to Japan.

“It’s something I worked on in my PhD so I’m going out to Japan for two weeks to visit the school out there,” she explained.

“I love my job and I love where I am working,” she admitted.

But while Aoibhinn was open about her busy career, the stunning brunette remained tight-lipped about her love life.

When asked if she was dating anyone new Aoibhinn said: “I won’t be commenting on that.”

Aoibhinn was chatting at the launch HKC’s new Irish language Intruder Alarm System.

“It speaks to that audience of people that use Irish in their everyday lives, parents who want to promote Irish with their kids and all the businesses in all the Gaeltacht areas,” she explained.

“It’s something that’s very innovative,” she added.
