Ex-Voice coach Jamelia 'scared' after receiving vile online racist and sexist abuse

Former Voice of Ireland coach Jamelia has hit out at cruel online trolls who have bombarded her with horrific racist and sexist abuse.

The Loose Women star has been targeted with the hate-filled messages on Twitter, leaving her shaken.

She said: “This week alone I’ve been called a n****r, a b*****, a slut, a slag, an idiot, a moron. I’m falling out of love with Twitter.

“The amount of vile comments I’ve received recently just make me question if it’s all worth it.

“I don’t want these horrible people I don’t even know having this kind of access to me, on a daily basis.”

And Jamelia – who quit the RTE show last year – said she is “upset” and “scared” by the vile messages.

She said: “I woke up so happy this morning only to come on to Twitter and see someone telling me they want to slam me in my head.

“Suffice to say, my mood changed, I got upset, I was confused and even felt a little scared. Someone I don’t know hates me like that? Wants to attack me? I don’t agree this comes with the territory.

“I certainly should not be allowing people I don’t even know to hurt me in this way.”

She added: “If I can offer you anything, it’s to please think before you tweet someone, please remember there is a human being reading your messages.”
