Eoghan McDermott ‘knocked unconscious’ in vicious St Stephen’s night attack

Eoghan McDermott was “knocked unconscious” in a vicious attack on St Stephen’s night.

The TV presenter was left with a concussion and forced to get a brain scan after a stranger jumped him from behind.

Taking to Twitter, the 2fm host revealed the terrifying details of his attack.

“Some coward jumped me from behind as I was walking down the road last night, got knocked unconscious,” he wrote.

“Brain scan, concussion. I’ll find you!”

The news comes just days before Eoghan is set to host the 3Countdown Concert in Dublin’s city centre on New Years Eve.

While the Dubliner admitted that he’s never usually too fond of New Years Eve as it always gets “a bit scatty” – he said that he’s looking forward to it this year.

“I’ve genuinely never had a brilliant new years, I find that it gets a bit scatty.

“It gets a little bit difficult for everyone to stay together and get served a drink and whatnot. So it’s just to be hopefully out in decent weather with brilliant music sounds lovely,” he said.
