Ed Sheeran’s Phoenix Park gigs could be moved following resident complaints

Ed Sheeran’s Phoenix Park gigs could be moved following resident complaints.

The singer-songwriter’s gigs will see over 180,000 fans flock to the park, with the shows set to take place near the Ashtown Gate entrance.

According to the Independent.ie, Fingal County Council members have requested a meeting with Dublin City Council in an effort to move the gigs to another part of the park due to a high number of residents nearby complaints.

They reported that Fianna Fáil Councillor, Howard Mahoney, said that local residents were not consulted prior to a licence being granted for the gigs.

They have also raised their concerns about facilities around the venue.

Speaking at a meeting of the Fingal County Council last week, Mr Mahoney said, “It’s a huge inconvenience for residents.

“We could have what happened at Croke Park for Garth Brooks.

“We’re not objecting to the thing taking place, we just feel there is a more suitable location for it.”
