Ed Sheeran credits The Late Late Toy Show for his success

Ed Sheeran has credited The Late Late Toy Show for his success in Ireland.

The British singer, who released his new album Divide yesterday, is hugely popular on Irish shores – and has close ties to Ireland as his grandparents hail from Co. Wexford.

Revealing that Ireland is his “biggest market in the world”, Ed insists that his success is thanks to his appearance on The Late Late Toy Show back in 2014.

“I don’t know what the f**k happened in Ireland. I think it was the Late Late Toy Show, but literally since then.” he said in an interview with Today FM.

“I’ve been coming to Ireland like four times a year since I was born, so for me the amount of success that is happening in Ireland is just mind-boggling for me, I just don’t know when it ends,” he gushed.

In the interview, the red-haired singer also told how he once “raged” with some major characters from Game of Thrones.

The news comes after RTÉ sat down for an interview with Ed’s Irish granny Nancy yesterday, as a song from his new album was penned about her.
