A Dublin gym has caused controversy with it’s latest bus stop ad.
FlyeFit Gyms have been slammed online, after their new ad campaign suggests girls should “lose their love handles” with a play on words referring to Love Island.
A new poster at Dublin bus stops shows a woman in a bikini, with the tag line: “escape love handle island”.

Although it may have been a good idea to match their new campaign with the most popular show on TV right now, many Twitter users were up in arms.
So cringe. God forbid a woman has ‘love handles’ in the summer!

I’ve seen it…and it’s a big F.U. to the average everyday woman. And don’t give me the aspirational bollox – your ad is expressly body shaming in it’s imagery and it’s wording. Get progressive with your advertising concepts…move on&use your brains!!! #BadIdea #LoveYourBody

Would rather stay here on Love Handle Island if it means I can escape toxic guff like this, thanks. https://t.co/kuJehwWC66

Women especially claimed that the ad was body shaming, especially since the woman in the ad looks perfectly fit.
To make matters worse, FlyeFit have been actively replying to complaints with GIFs, instead of tackling the issue.
