The presenter didn't lose sleep over the rumours

Doireann Garrihy has admitted that she didn’t lose sleep over those ‘boyfriend stealing’ rumours, as she knew there was “zero truth” to the claims.

Last month, rumours started swirling about Doireann and her boyfriend Joe Melody, after voice notes on WhatsApp started circulating.

In the voice notes, a girl claimed that Joe left his alleged ex-girlfriend ‘Jane’ for Doireann over the summer.

The voice notes started circulating just days before Doireann filmed her first show with Podge and Rodge, and she’s since admitted, “The timing was a bit, I suppose it was bad.”

“But it was also maybe good that I had something else massive to focus on,” she told the Irish Daily Mirror.

“Because it was the first week of this (Podge and Rodge) and so I was like ‘eye on the prize I just need to nail this’ and rise above the rumours. And it has gone away since and sure people just, it has blown over and I knew it would.

“I had always learned, even from my sister Aoibhin, if something like that happens it is always going to be old news in a couple of days and thank god it was.”

“And the fact there was just zero truth, in it, you know people were like to me ‘could you not sleep at night?’ and I was like ‘well actually I could sleep fine’ because it was just so wild.”

“Anyway I haven’t even thought about it since,” she added.
