Doireann Garrihy says she turned to radio because acting ‘didn’t work out’ for her

Doireann Garrihy has revealed she made the move to radio presenting because acting “didn’t work out for her”.

The social media star has spoken in the past how she gave up on her acting dream, after she didn’t land any roles after graduating from Drama in Trinity College.

Since then Doireann has gone on to work on her own show on RTE, The Doireann Project, but the presenter is also doing more work on radio,

After officially leaving her SPIN 1038 show The Zoo Crew last month, Doireann guest presented on Today FM this weekend.

Taking to Instagram after the show, Doireann said she was proud to have landed the slot.

“When acting didn’t work out, I decided to give radio a bash,” she wrote.

“I was bitten by the bug and 3 years on, I’ve just done my first national radio slot on @todayfm and couldn’t have enjoyed it more.”

As well as working more on radio, Doireann is now the co-host of The Podge and Rodge Show on RTE 2.
