Doireann Garrihy admits she wants to ‘protect’ her boyfriend Paddy Wilson from online trolling

The RTÉ star has been dating her boyfriend for over a year

Doireann Garrihy has admitted she wants to ‘protect’ her boyfriend Paddy Wilson from the negative aspects of being in the public eye.

The RTÉ 2fm host has been dating Paddy for over a year, and the couple moved in together back in March.

Speaking on The Six O’Clock Show, Doireann said she was initially reluctant to go public with their romance – as she feared he would be targeted online.

Doireann explained: “For the most part I’m very lucky, I don’t get a whole lot of negative stuff online, and anything I do get, most days I can just brush it off…”

“But I think if you’re with someone who isn’t in the public eye as well, you’re going to be that bit more protective.”

“I signed up to do public things and so if people want to bash me then fair enough, I’ve kind of put myself out there, but I would hate for that to be the case for Paddy,” she said.

“I’m very selective about what I do and don’t share. I wouldn’t show a whole lot of personal stuff.”

“It’s mainly just us walking the dog or whatever. Very boring stuff to be honest,” Doireann added.

On this week’s episode of Goss Chats, Goss.ie CEO Ali Ryan chats with award-winning makeup artist and MRS Glam creator, Michelle Regazolli Stone.
