Dermot Kennedy has said he believes Paul Mescal could have a successful music career.

Last month, the Irish singer and the Normal People actor teamed up to perform Dermot’s hit song Giants in London’s Natural History Museum, as part of a live streamed gig.

Speaking to The Sun, Dermot said: “His voice is incredible. He’s never done that before in his life, that’s the most admirable thing.”

“Even knowing how to sing into a microphone is something you learn over time. The fact that he went for it is so cool.”

“I feel that guy can do anything,” he continued. “He’s not in a rush to do a music career right now but I’d love to be a moving part in someone else’s grand dream.”

Explaining how they came to meet, Dermot said: “The whole world was losing their minds over him in Normal People. I sent him a message just randomly saying hey and hoping he was doing well. He shot to mega stardom quite suddenly.”

“When someone gets that much notoriety that quickly, there is an assumption that everything is perfect, so I just sent a message to see if he was cool.”

“That was it for a few months then the idea of the show came up.”
