Daniel O’Donnell warns fans about imposter on social media

Daniel O’Donnell has warned fans about a fake account impersonating him on Facebook.

A post shared on the singer’s official Facebook page has informed fans that Daniel “never sends personal messages” on social media.

Sharing a screenshot of the fake page, the post read: “It has been brought to our attention that another page is circulating impersonating Daniel.”

“The page is under the name Danielfrancis O Donnell. The page is adding people as a friend and asking them to email them to a particular email address.

“Please don’t add this page or contact this person. This is Daniel’s official Facebook page that you are on and although their are other pages for Daniel fans they are all like pages where they will not ask you to be friends.”

“Also Daniel never sends personal messages on his Facebook page. Please just be aware.”

This isn’t the first time the 59-year-old has fallen victim to impersonators on social media.

Back in 2018, the country singer warned fans about someone pretending to be him on WhatsApp, trying to scam people out of money.

At the time, a statement from Daniel’s fan club read: “There is currently a person on WhatsApp using an image of Daniel and his name ‘Daniel O’Donnell’, who is looking for a donation online for seemingly charitable purposes.”

“Please be aware that this is not Daniel, as Daniel never messages his fans on WhatsApp, and as this person is using Daniel’s image to try and get money from unsuspecting followers, this is regarded as fraud.”

“Anyone who gets a message from this ‘rogue Daniel’ needs to report it immediately through WhatsApp – as there is an option to do so – to block this person.”

The warning also set the record straight about Daniel’s social media usage, as they stated, “Please also be aware that Daniel never goes on Messenger via Facebook, so if you see anything up there which looks like it has come or is coming from Daniel, it’s not.”
