Daniel O’Donnell has revealed that he was talked into buying property during the Celtic Tiger, leaving him stung by the economic crash.

The singing sensation from Donegal opened up about his financial woes during an interview with The Sun.

He said: “We bought a luxury apartment in Dublin and a few other places as the advice we got at the time was, you couldn’t put your money into anything safer than bricks and mortar.”

“We bought at the height but now this stuff isn’t worth anything like the price we paid for it,” he explained.

As he has not sold any of his properties, the 57-year-old isn’t able to quantify his losses.

But despite his financial woes, Daniel says he doesn’t feel sorry for himself.

“There’s a lot people worse off than we are, so we don’t feel sorry for ourselves,” he said.

The singer has just announced a string of shows at the INEC Killarney, next September.

He also recently hit headlines by expressing an interest in appearing on ITV soap, Coronation Street.
