Daniel O’Donnell has opened up about his wife Majella O’Donnell’s battle with cancer.
The author was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and famously shaved her head live on The Late Late Show.
“It does make you stand back and realise that nothing is forever,” he said about Majella’s illness.

The singer revealed that Majella is healthy at the moment and has hopes that everything will be fine.
“We’re very lucky, Majella’s health is great, thank god,” he told Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show.
“And we’ve no other reason to think otherwise. I think that’s certainly what she does and what I do.
“You look forward with great positive thoughts. You don’t think anything other than everything is going to be fine.”

The Donegal native that he took an 18 month break so he could be by his wife’s side – and they enjoyed his time off together immensely.
“But when you’re in the middle of it – and that’s when I decided to take the break – I said, how does anybody know what’s bothering you at the time.
“It could be anything. We were lucky that we were able to take the time and able to afford it. We have nothing to hold us back from doing it.
“It was a great thing to do and we enjoyed it immensely,” he added.
