Dancing with the Stars‘ Cliona Hagan said that she is proud to take off her makeup and added: “I’m not perfect”.
The singer is top of the leaderboard in Dancing with the Stars and has wowed judges with her dance skills throughout the weeks.
Despite getting glammed up for the show, Cliona has admitted that she is proud to show people what she looks like without makeup.
“I’m proud to take off my makeup and show people what I look like. It’s the chance of a lifetime being on Dancing With The Stars but I want everybody to understand, underneath all the makeup and the outfits, I’m not perfect,” she told The Irish Sun.
“There are plenty of things I don’t like about myself, and I certainly don’t look good when I get out of bed in the morning — my hair looks like it has been electrocuted.”
“I think women in general are too hard on themselves. They open up magazines and see zero size models who have been airbrushed, and then think ‘why the hell don’t I look like that? We should embrace who we are and be confident enough to be who we are,” she continued.
“I think a real woman should have spots on their faces, and not be perfect. Spots and freckles are beautiful.”
Cliona added that singing helped her grow confident, as she never felt pretty when she was younger: “I never felt pretty when I was younger. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin, and that made me painfully quiet. I never really wanted the light shone on me. I was definitely a late starter.”
“I came out of myself to become a singer and I want to inspire other people to follow their dreams. Country music is for real people and I’d like to let young girls all over Ireland know they can do this too. Don’t let fear hold you back.”
“There’s nothing going on but Robert is a sweet guy,” she told the publication, after sharing a photo of her and Robert eating doughnuts.
