Dancing With The Stars celebs struggle to nab tickets for friends and family

Celebrities on RTÉ’s Dancing With The Stars are struggling to secure tickets for their friends and family every Sunday night, it has been revealed.

The stars are limited to just four guest passes for each show at Ardmore Studios, so some have been forced to source tickets from their professional dance partners.

“Because the dance floor in Ardmore is so big, there isn’t much room for an audience. Seats for guests of the dancers are even more limited but everyone is asking them for tickets,” an insider told the Irish Sun.

“The professional dancers also get tickets for friends and family but some of them are from Eastern Europe, and don’t have many family or friends in Ireland to attend. They have been passing them onto the celebs rather than letting them go to waste.”

Struggle: DWTS celebs are allocated four tickets for friends and family per show | RTE

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for DWTS said, “All on-screen talent have a weekly allocation of tickets and are free to give them to whoever they wish.

“If they are not using their allocation they direct the tickets back to the production company and they allocate them.”

This week, it was revealed that the show got off to a glittering start as 640,000 viewers tuned in to watch the first episode last Sunday – which spells good things for the show’s longevity on Irish television.

“This show will run and run, not least because RTE have to recover the huge investment they made into the most expensive entertainment show they’ve ever produced. But it was money well spent,” said an RTE source.
