Dáithí Ó Sé’s wife Rita reveals her parents were diagnosed with coronavirus

Dáithí Ó Sé’s wife Rita has revealed her parents were both diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The former Rose of Tralee contestant opened up about her parent’s battle with the deadly virus, admitting they were initially treated for a bad flu.

“They thought it was a really bad flu and were treated for bronchitis,” she told the RTÉ Guide.

Her parents have since made a full recovery in their New Jersey home, but Rita has been unable to visit them since last October.

“I haven’t seen them since last October but we talk every day,” she said.

The New Jersey native also opened up about her and Dáithí’s six-year-old son Micheál Óg – admitting that he and his father are like “best buds”.

“He can imitate Dáithí’s accent so well. One day Dáithí copped this and asked, ‘Are you taking me off?’ and Óige started to laugh hysterically.”

“They are like the best buds. I don’t get a look in when Dad is around.

“Óige ditches me and everything is about him and Dáithí. The boys together doing their thing,” she added.
