Daisy-Edgar Jones has shared a sweet tribute to her Normal People co-star Paul Mescal, congratulating the actor on his Emmy nomination.
The hit show received four nominations in total – including Paul’s nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series, and Lenny Abrahamson’s nod in the Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series category.
Sadly, the 24-year-old missed out on a nomination for her role as Marianne, but took to Instagram to congratulate Paul and Lenny on their amazing achievement following yesterday’s announcement.
“I could not be more proud of these two utterly incredible people,” she shared alongside a photo of the duo.
“Working with you both has been one of the greatest joys of my life.”
“Also huge congrats to @louisekielycasting, you’re incredible, and also Sally and Alice and @element_pictures, we smashed it,” Daisy added.
Responding to the touching tribute, Paul commented: “You are the best person. Properly weeping x.”
On Tuesday night, the Maynooth native credited Daisy for his success as he reacted to his first Emmy nomination.

He wrote on Instagram: “@daisyedgarjones this only exists because of you and your extraordinary talent end of!”
Filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson also dedicated the show’s nominations to Daisy, taking to Twitter to say that the actress deserved a nomination as much as the others.
“Delighted for @mescal_paul @louisekiely Sally and Alice,” he shared.
“And huge love too to the brilliant @DaisyEdgarJones who is woven into the dna of this show in a way impossible to separate. The nominations are hers too.”
