Courteney Cox has the seal of approval from Snow Patrol fiancee's mum

Rocker Johnny McDaid’s mum has given her seal of approval to his TV star fiancee Courteney Cox.

Delighted Pauline McDaid said the whole family “love her” – after the ex-Friends actress jetted in to Northern Ireland last month.

The retired art teacher said Courteney – who visited Derry with her 10-year-old daughter Coco – “felt at home” on her visit.

Asked if they will wed soon, she said: “They have only just got engaged but they are head over heels in love, and it is lovely to see how happy they are together.”

And Pauline revealed that Courteney – who went to see Shrove beach in Donegal – even picked up some local phrases and hopes to come back soon.

“She’s filming at the moment for Cougar Town, so I expect when that’s over she will have time to come back. And she definitely will,” she told Sunday Life.

“She even picked up some Derry phrases when she was here. The girls were teaching her a few. And with her being an actress, she can do the best Derry accent.”

And Pauline – who first met Courteney in Italy earlier this year – said the 50-year-old fits right into the family.

“I’ve never been to Los Angeles so I have no idea what their life is like out there, but… Courteney was just so comfortable and fitted right in,” she added.

“And the people were absolutely fantastic to her, as I expected they would be. And she wanted to do normal things, like go up the town and do her shopping.”

During her time in Northern Ireland she also visited the Derry Peace Bridge – in tribute to Johnny’s late father, John Snr, who brought the bridge to the city just weeks before dying from cancer.
