Conor McGregor CONFIRMED to fight a new opponent

Conor McGregor is set to fight Eddie Alvarez for the first time.

The Crumlin native injured his foot during his rematch with Nate Diaz in August this year – but that hasn’t stopped him from wanting to fight in UFC 205.

“This is the fight the fans wanted,” UFC boss Dana White said.

The 28-year-old will fight the Philadelphia native on November 12th in New York’s Madison Square Garden.

“I’m excited that our very first event at Madison Square Garden will be headlined by Eddie Alvarez defending the lightweight title against Conor McGregor,” Dana told ESPN.

“This card has three world title fights and is the best card in UFC history.”

If Conor beats Eddie in November, he will be the first person ever to hold world title belts in two weight divisions in the UFC.
