Dublin actor Colin Farrell has admitted that he’s sticking to the single life for the sake of his sons.
The True Detective star, who has been single since 2010, revealed that staying single has made it easier to parent his two boys, Henry, 5, and James, 12.
“I’ve basically been single for five years and even though I love women, it’s difficult to get involved. Being single is much easier,” he said.

The Castleknock native split from Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś in 2010, shortly after she gave birth to the couple’s son Henry.
Although Colin hasn’t had a serious relationship since, he revealed that won’t change any time soon.
“My children have given me purpose in my life and I embrace it wholeheartedly,” he told OK! Magazine.
“I was caught up in this whirlwind and I had the most amazing time of my life but it was also the kind of life that leaves you empty a lot of the time,

“I spent a large part of my career having more fun than any man has a right to have, but I’ve left the party,” he added.
Along with his busy career, Colin says parenting is his top priority.
“I’m a loving father who takes his responsibility very seriously. And I am completely devoted to giving my sons the best life possible,” he admitted.

With the pressures that accompany his fame and the responsibilities his has as a father, Colin admits nurturing a relationship would be hard.
“You’re reluctant to expose someone to that unless you’re so much in love that you’re both willing to put up with the attention that’s going to follow you around,” he said.
The 39-year-old says he is completely content with his “beautiful life.”
