RTE star Claire Byrne has revealed she is expecting her second child – just six months after giving birth to her first.
The Prime Time presenter expects her schedule to get even busier with two children under the age of one from the autumn.
She said: “It is a bit of a happy surprise. For a short time we’ll have two babies under one. It is going to be a bit of a challenge.”
The Morning Ireland host and fiance Gerry Scollan welcomed six-month-old son Patrick into the world in October and feels the new tot will be “a bit of company” for him.

However Claire, 38, revealed that they had not put any “great thought” into adding to their family.
She said: “But I’ll be 39 this summer so I’ve not an endless amount of time. Gerry would have 10 children if he could.
“I never plan anything and I don’t prepare with military precision. I grew up in a family of six children but I’m not saying I’m going to have six.”
Claire – who told her bosses in RTE the news yesterday – got engaged to Gerry in March 2013 after dating for a year.

And the Montrose favourite told the Irish Independent she won’t be finding out the sex of the baby in advance.
She added: “Before Patrick was born I didn’t find out. I don’t care in the least if it is a boy or girl – the only thing I’ll say is that when I’m buying clothes for boys I’ll gravitate towards the pink dresses.”
