Actor Chris O’Dowd has compared working on Broadway to going “through the wars”.
The Boyle star, who plays Lennie in the critically acclaimed show, admitted working on Of Mice and Men has taken it’s toll.
“I always somewhat guffawed at the idea that it could be a tiring job to work three hours a day, but I’m going to the doctor twice a week with various bangs and bruises and swollen vocal chords. I feel like I’ve been through the wars.”
To play the difficult character Chris shaves his head once a week, and recently said he cries backstage.

But his hard work paid off when he was nominated for a Tony award last month.
The Bridesmaid star, whose co-stars include James Franco and Leighton Meester, said the news still hasn’t hit him properly.
“I don’t know if it’s totally sunk in, if I’m being honest,” he told the Herald.
