Choice Music Prize: Rusangano Family Win Album Of The Year ‘We Didn’t Think We Were Going To Win’

Rusangano Family are the winners of this years RTE Music Choice Prize and they were stunned by their victory.

Speaking to Goss.ie at the awards, the band admitted they hadn’t even prepared a winning speech.

“We didn’t think we were going to win,” they admitted.

The African hip-hop trio were at a loss for words when asked how they felt about winning.

“It’s hard to explain, I don’t want to say happy, it’s over rated at this point, I feel right, this is the way I should feel”

The prize was up for grabs from oldies and newcomers at Dublin’s Vicar Street, but the African hip-hop trio took home the win!

The Limerick/Shannon based trio said they owe Ireland an album and we can expect to hear more of them very soon.

“We owe Ireland an album, there will be an album,” they told Goss.ie.

Check out their album that bagged them the award Let The Dead Bury The Dead – And if you can’t get enough of these guys, catch them in the St Patrick’s Festival, National Concert Hall.
