Cecelia Ahern refuses to give relationship advice – as her marriage would then fall apart

Cecelia Ahern has revealed she never wants to give relationship advice – as her marriage would inevitably then fall apart.

The P.S. I Love You author, 33, married David Keoghan four years ago, and believes leading separate lives helps their marriage.

But asked for her advice on a strong relationship, Cecelia said: “I always think anyone who gives advice always ends up breaking up so I don’t want to be one of those people.

“When one person says you have to do this or that, I think well, no, that couple don’t have to do that because they are totally different.

“Tailor it for yourself. I know for me, I don’t own my husband and he doesn’t own me. He’s his own person and we’ve got our own lives.

“Our thing is that we’re going along this journey together and we have two separate lives but we’ve decided to do that together and that’s our thing. Also I don’t like drama – go away with your drama.”

And Cecelia revealed that sometimes she will just jump in her car and run to Wexford to flee her problems.

She told Irish Country Magazine: “Sometimes I take off to Monart in Wexford. I hop in the car and go for one night – that’s when my head is really about to explode.

“Maybe once a year I’ll do that by myself. Other times I’ll just take an hour and go for a normal massage – to me, that’s the ultimate treat.”
