Carlow beauty Rosalyn Odujebe wants to be the first ever black Miss Ireland

Miss Carlow’s Rosalyn Odujebe has admitted she wants to be the first black Miss Ireland to take home to the crown.

The Carlow IT student who is studying BioScience wants to make Irish pageant history.

“It would be amazing to be the first black woman to represent Ireland at Miss World. It would be huge,” she said.

“I think this year after the vote on marriage equality, it would be particularly great if we had a black Miss Ireland.”

“People have been so supportive and so many people have been in touch to say how great it is to see a black person in the media for something so positive,” she revealed in an interview with the Irish Sun.

Miss Ireland takes places this Friday night, and is being judged by Amanda Brunker, former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh, Gold Fever hair extensions founder and sponsor Katie Jane Goldin.
