Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor set to star in TV adaptation of popular Irish novel

Phoebe Dynevor is set to star in the TV adaptation of popular Irish novel, Exciting Times.

According to Deadline, the actress has closed a deal to executive produce and star in the series, which is based on Irish writer Naoise Dolan’s debut novel.

The series is in development at Amazon Studios, after Black Bear Pictures optioned rights to the book before it was released last year.

Phoebe is set to play the lead role of Ava – a millennial Irish expat in Hong Kong, who becomes entangled in a love triangle with banker Julian and lawyer Edith.

The book has received rave reviews since it was released last year, and has been described as “half Sally Rooney love triangle, half glitzy Crazy Rich Asians”.

As well as starring in the series, Phoebe will executive produce alongside author Naoise Dolan, director Cooper Raiff, and Black Bear’s Teddy Schwarzman, Ben Stillman and Michael Heimler.

Phoebe, 26, is best known for playing Daphne Bridgerton in Netflix’s popular period drama Bridgerton.

The second season is currently being filmed in the UK, but it’s unknown if the she’ll return for the third.
