Bressie encourages people to talk about depression – after Robin Williams suicide

RTE star Bressie gave an emotional plea to Irish people suffering from depression, after hearing the news that actor Robin Williams took his own life.

The Blizzards singer took to Facebook to tell fans that they should be open about depression, and talk to someone if they are feeling down.

“Those who seek help can find ways of managing their issues but sometimes, like with physical health, people can lose this battle,” he wrote.

“One of the hardest yet most liberating things a person can do is admit they are not emotionally invincible.”

“After that initial step of admittance many avenues and roads open that can help lead you to a much stronger place,” he said.

The boyfriend of top Irish model Roz Purcell, added that people suffering should not do so in silence, and insisted people going through depression are not alone.

“Be patient, everyone is different and surround yourself with people who support and understand your situation.

“You are certainly not alone ,” he said.

Bressie has previously opened up about his battle with depression and anxiety.

“I was low, very low and scared s***less,” he previously said.

“I truly felt I was losing my mind and I was too confused to tell my parents.”
