Stephen Gately will be remembered at an emotional memorial mass this week, marking ten years since his sudden death.

The Boyzone star passed away on October 10, 2009 at the age of 33, and a post mortem later revealed that he died of sudden arrhythmia death syndrome.

According to the Irish Sun, a memorial mass for Stephen will be held at St Laurence O’Toole Church on Sheriff Street in Dublin on Thursday – the same place where he was laid to rest back in 2009.

It’s believed his band mates Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch will appear on TV in the UK to honour Stephen on the 10th anniversary of his death.

The bandmates were left heartbroken by Stephen’s passing, and still post tributes to him on his birthday every year.

At the time of his death, they released an emotional statement which said: “We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen.”
