Bono, Sting and Sinead O’Connor will all feature in upcoming Boomtown Rats film

The Boomtown Rats are back, and are due to bring out a brand new album in the New Year.

The band have been reunited with deserter Bob Geldof to make new music – and the new music will mark the release of a brand new film all about the legendary Irish music makers.

Bono, Sting and Sinead O’Connor are all due to feature in the film, according to The Sun.

The documentary, called Boomtown, will share the history of the band.

Bob Geldof told the paper: “It’s been a pure joy going back to working with the guys because I am a totally different performer with the Boomtown Rats behind me.”

Rats guitarist Garry Roberts said that getting the band back together was like reuniting with an old friend.

“There is definitely something natural that happens when The Rats come together. Everyone has their role, and it just slots into place.”

The band’s new single Trash Blam Baby is out next month.
