It’s been a controversial few weeks for Irish influencers, and while some have vowed to stop editing photos, others are taking a step back – like Terrie McEvoy.
The popular blogger has told her followers that she will be appearing less and less on her social media channels.
It comes after the Dubliner was slammed by followers, after it emerged she chose her friend as well as her sister in law, to win two competitions with Tower Jewellers in 2016.
While the incident happened nearly two years ago, Terrie faced massive backlash for “rigging” her competitions on her page.
After apologising to fans, Terrie has now said she needs a break from the world of social media.
“Sometimes you just need to take a little step back from the madness,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Speaking about the incident, Terrie said she knows she was wrong.
“It was almost 3 years ago…. I’ve learned, I’ve apologised, I’ve cried my tears, and absolutely beat myself up over it… but again… I CAN’T do anything about the past.”
“I’m taking a little break from everything, especially snapchat to keep focusing on me, it’s been hard to concentrate over the past few days and I haven’t been looking after myself, so I’ll catch you guys really soon once I have an appetite and my brain is working again!!!”
