Bernard Brogan opens up about married life

Bernard Brogan has opened up about married life, and joked that they’re “still hanging in there” just four months after their wedding day.

The Dublin GAA star wed his long-term love Keira Doyle in late December, and admitted that life has been moving “a million miles an hour” since they became newlyweds.

“Married life is good, we’re still hanging in there anyway which is positive,” he laughed.

“We’d a big shindig down in Kilkenny, 250 of us, family and friends, football partners and all sorts. We’d a great few days.”

“Then we went away in January to South Africa for a couple of weeks so that was amazing,” he told Independent.ie.

The pair are now busy moving into a new house, and 33-year-old Bernard admitted that they’re already getting pressured about having kids.

“I’m just enjoying life. We’re newly married and enjoying ourselves. We’re busy moving into a new house, we’re getting works done there.

“It’s a million miles an hour. There’s training and work and all of that, so we’re just living in the present, as they say,” he explained.

“It’s like anything, it’s the natural course of things. When you’re going out with someone, they’re pressuring you to get married, then they’re pressuring you to have kids and all of that. No one’s ever happy to stay in the moment and enjoy it.

“We just moved into a new house and stuff, so we’d a lovely marriage, a lovely couple of weeks away.

“It seems like a million years ago because I was straight back into training, into the hard stuff with Dublin, so it seems like a long time ago, but it’s really positive,” he added.
