Ben Foden finally admits to cheating on Una Healy – but claims it wasn’t the only reason behind their split

The rugby player was unfaithful to his wife

Ben Foden has finally admitted to cheating on his wife Una Healy, but claims his adultery wasn’t the only reason behind their split.

The couple called it quits last July amid reports that he was unfaithful, an accusation Ben has since confirmed in a new interview.

Speaking to The Guardian, Ben said, “At the moment anything that’s published about me is never very good.”

“And pretty rightly so because I was the one who committed adultery. But at the same time, it wasn’t the only reason for our divorce to go through,” he confessed.

Despite their split, Ben and Una have remained on good terms for the sake of their two kids – Aoife Belle (six) and Tadhg (four).

“It’s not ideal, but we’re very amicable, we’re getting through it, we’re not the first people in the world to get divorced,” he said. “We’ve got two little kids we adore.”

Ben also addressed that screenshot of his Bumble profile, which went viral just weeks after his split from Una was made public.

The dating profile caused a serious stir, as the rugby star confirmed his plans to divorce Una in his bio. But funnily enough, Ben has revealed that he actually made the Bumble profile with his ex-wife.

“I’ll tell you the real story behind that,” he said. “I picked up Una from the airport a couple of weeks after we’d first been [in New York], and we were sort of joking about dating.”

“So I loaded up Bumble, and we did the profile together, joking around. And then I realised something dodgy was going on with it and the next day it was all over the paper.”

“It’s not ideal, but at least I can laugh about it and especially so with Una. If she hadn’t known about it I can see it would have been a bit of a knife in the back,” he added.

“But we were messing around, so we can laugh and she can call me a bit of an idiot.”
