Baz Ashmawy reveals why he won’t return to 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy

The final season ended this year

Baz Ashmawy has admitted that he’s not making another 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy because of “rip-off” shows.

The hit series first aired in 2014 on Sky 1 and went on to be come a massive success – but after this year’s season ended, the Dubliner has hung up his adventuring boots.

“As soon as other people are making spin-offs or rip-offs of it, you just kind of think, ‘Well maybe there’s something else we should try now,'” he said.

All over: Baz won’t return to 50 Ways because he’s “done with it now” | MICHAEL CHESTER

Baz revealed that despite having a good time filming the show with his mother, Nancy Ashmawy, he would find it hard to have somebody else out in his shoes.

“I had such a good time making 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy with my mum, so it would be hard to resent somebody doing it with their mum if they get the same thing out of it,” he told the Irish Sun.

“But as far as ideas go, that’s just TV. I created a little genre and what has happened is maybe one of the reasons that I’m kind of done with it now.”
